Applications

VMH-001 or VMH-002

Twelve steps of test force between 1 and 2000p (gf) selected at the touch of a button.  A newly introduced focus finder is available enabling the operator to detect the focus very quickly.

Approach velocity of the indenter can be selected between 25 and 60 μm/s.

Infinity corrected Leica Plan objectives from 10X to 100X with a measuring eyepiece field of view of 16mm.

For each test the measured diagonal lengths and hardness value for given test forces are stored as well as tolerance and statistics.

All models are equipped with a motorised turret making operation quick and simple.

Printer and PC interfaces – RS232, Centronics, USB and Ethernet are offered.

Measuring instruments for fully
automatic microhardness testing.

Model VMHT AUTO

VMHT AUTO

Ideal for high capacity production sites.  Orientate the specimen on a fully motorised stage and call up the test parameters using interactive software.  The system performs the measurements fully automatically without any further attendance.

Sample thickness does not have to be parallel since three z-positions can be defined using the autofocus to do the area alignment.

Data can be stored and retrieved and displayed on one screen.

Software VMHT MOT

Intuitive user interface

The colour touch-display has a clear and easy user interface. All settings can be done by touching the desired value or function.

Display of Results

Results for one or multiple specimens are shown in tabular form or graphically together with all necessary testing parameters.
Values within the tolerance are shown green, values out of tolerance are shown red.
Integrated statistic functions are used for data evaluation.
The CHD hardness depth (in mm) can be determined.
The graphs can be directly printed or saved on a USB memory stick.

Integrated Video Feature

The system is equipped with an optional high resolution digital video camera.
The video image is shown directly on the touch-display and can be saved on a USB memory stick or printed.
An optical and electronic focus finder with peak display makes focusing easy and repeatable.

Upgrade Existing Hardness testers

Software using the camera upgrade

All manual hardness testers with a c-mount camera attachment can be equipped with a USB camera (VM4-USB). In combination with this camera a measuring software for measuring the hardness by horizontal and vertical lines and saving the video images is available: VMS-VMH.

This is an affordable solution to upgrade old hardness testers of any brand to convenient video technology.
